Life hasn't even started yet, 2025

A 24 panel repeating comic strip and accompanying comic page made for USW's 'Works in Progess' exhibition. Each panel of the strip represents an hour, which is then arranged in a random order, creating an endless cycle of days that repeat endlessly.
Made to be monotonous, this project was made to reflect the increasing wait times transgender people are expected to suffer through in order to medically transition through the NHS.

Matthew Viney, also known online as Amadan Glas is an illustrator, comic artist and zine maker based in Wales.He uses traditional inking techniques, his practice has a tactile quality reminiscent of pre-digital comics and manga. His latest project, 'He Lives!' uses metaphor as a vessel to explore the intersection between queerness and horror.In addition to art, Matthew also enjoys getting involved in art markets as much as possible. He has volunteered at Zinezilla and Shake Bristol in the past as a way to engage with the community aspect of these events beyond just attending.
As a member of the Mad Scientist Collective, which he manages alongside his friend and collaborator Leo Saturday, the first Neon! art market took place in April 2026. He also managed the finance of USW's students Cwtch art fair in 2025, keeping inventory of over 40 illustrators goods.Other past projects of his include 'Alien', an eight page short comic made for an anthology compiling work by students from Cardiff and Stuttgart as a part of their 'Open Doors Open Minds' collaboration.
